Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
zinbox is made by Smmall LLC (“Smmall”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through the zinbox Mac app, the zinbox.email website, and zinbox subscriptions, and what we do with it.
The short version: the zinbox app doesn’t send us your email, your Google account details, or anything about how you use it. Your mail goes directly between your Mac and Google. We only see the information you give us when you join the waitlist, subscribe, or contact us.
The zinbox app
zinbox loads Gmail and Google Workspace directly from Google on your Mac. When you sign in to an account, you sign in with Google, and your messages, contacts, attachments and login sessions travel between your Mac and Google’s servers. They never pass through servers run by Smmall.
- Stored only on your Mac: your signed-in sessions (cookies and site data for each account), your list of accounts, and your zinbox settings, such as which accounts count toward the dock badge.
- Generated on your Mac: unread counts and notifications. zinbox reads these from the Gmail pages it has loaded and shows them locally.
- Not collected: zinbox does not include analytics, tracking or crash reporting, and it does not send us any information about you, your accounts or your mail.
Your use of Gmail inside zinbox is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. If you remove an account from zinbox or delete the app, the data zinbox stored for that account is removed from your Mac. Your mail itself stays in your Google account.
The website
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter. The form is processed by SheetMonkey and stored in a Google Sheet that only we can access. We use it only to tell you about zinbox, such as when it launches. Every email includes a way to opt out, or you can ask us to remove your address at any time.
Hosting
zinbox.email is hosted by Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel automatically processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
Embedded video
The home page embeds a YouTube video in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube doesn’t set cookies before you play the video. Once you press play, Google may collect information under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The zinbox website doesn’t set its own cookies or use analytics or advertising trackers.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details directly, and we never see or store your full card number. We receive and keep the information we need to run your subscription: your name, email address, billing country, subscription plan and status, payment history, and limited card details (such as brand, last four digits and expiry date). See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
We use this information to provide your subscription, send receipts and account emails, handle refunds, prevent fraud, and meet tax and accounting obligations.
Support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and help you.
How we share information
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share it only:
- with the service providers named above (SheetMonkey, Google, Vercel and Stripe) and our email provider, so they can do their work for us;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Smmall, our users or others; and
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist addresses until zinbox launches and you’ve had a chance to subscribe, or until you ask us to remove yours. We keep subscription and payment records for as long as your subscription is active and afterward as long as tax and accounting laws require. We keep support emails as long as they’re needed to help you.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You can also object to or ask us to limit how we use it. Email levi@smmall.site and we’ll respond within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
California residents: the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the rights above to know, delete and correct your personal information. We don’t sell or share personal information as the law defines those terms.
If you’re in the EEA, UK or Switzerland: we process your information to perform our contract with you (subscriptions), with your consent (the waitlist, which you can withdraw at any time), to meet legal obligations (tax records), and for our legitimate interests in running and securing zinbox. Smmall is based in the United States, so your information is processed there. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to your information to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us. On your Mac, zinbox’s data is protected by macOS and your user account.
Children
zinbox isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, such as the app starting to collect new kinds of information, we’ll tell subscribers by email before they take effect.
